După o pauză de cinci ani, Honda a prezentat lumii noua Civic Type R, despre care japonezii spun că este „o mașină de curse pentru străzile publice” și de asemenea că „beneficiază de cel mai performant motor pentru gama Type R construit vreodată”. Acesta este noul propulsor VTEC TURBO de 2 litri, care oferă 310 cai putere și 400 Nm cuplu, cifre despre care Honda spune că sunt mai mari decât la oricare din precedentele modele Civic Type R, dar și de neegalat de vreun alt hot hatch cu tracțiune față. 

Britanicii de la Xcar sunt printre primii care au reușit să testeze noua Honda Civic Type R și ne împărtășesc concluziile.
